Song
My passion for singing was nurtured and celebrated since childhood. I've taken piano lessons, sung in school and church choirs, and attended All-State Chorus. In addition to being classically trained, I embrace my Vietnamese heritage and American nationality through song. On my blog, I share my journey as a musician, hoping to use my gift to impact communities I care about.
Science
With university research and hospital volunteer experiences, I dream of becoming a physician-scientist. Having immigrated to the U.S. at a young age, I recognize the barriers that immigrant students and others from non-traditional backgrounds face in elite academic spaces. In my series, "Voices in Science," I interview Ph.D. candidates at elite universities and learn about their journeys, with a goal of inspiring and guiding students who may be charting unfamiliar academic territory.
